Toorak Handicap 2013 – Nominations Released

The final field and barrier draw has been released for the Group 1 Toorak Handicap, which will take place at Caulfield Racecourse this Saturday October 8, 2013.

A total of 22 horses have accepted for the 2013 Toorak Handicap, including Linton.

Linton has won seven of his 25 race starts and has earned more than $2.08 million in prize money during his horse racing career.

The Galileo gelding won three races in a row during his autumn and winter preparation, with the last being in the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap on June 8, 2013.

He has had one race start since returning for the spring carnival, where he placed fifth of 16 runners in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield on September 29, 2013.

Linton is trained by John Sadler at Flemington Racecourse and is nominated for the Group 1 Manikato Stakes and Patinack Farm Classic later this spring.

King Mufhasa is also included in the 2013 Toorak Handicap nominations.

The now nine-year-old has won 20 of his 2 race starts and has earned more than $2.87 million in prize money during his career.

King Mufhasa placed second in his first spring start in the Group 1 Windsor Park Plate behind Xanadu on September 21.

Yosei, Speediness and Solzhenitsyn are also included in the 2013 Toorak Handicap nominations.
