It looks like this race could be a punter’s dream as the potential field is stacked with talent. Plenty will be looking to the Gai Waterhouse-trained More Joyous. Though, it should be noted that she has also been nominated for the upcoming Group 1 Yalumba Stakes (2000m), which could see her going up against rival So You Think.

No matter which Group 1 feature Waterhouse decides to put her in this Saturday, she is looking fit to take the win. The four-year-old bay mare has been on a hot streak with three consecutive wins. Her most recent first place finish came in the Group 1 George Main Stakes (1600m) in late September.

The Mathrew Ellerton & Simon Zahra-trained Response is also looking like another early favourite for this upcoming Toorak Handicap with a recent win in the Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m). This was preceded by a couple of impressive second place runnings in late August and early September.

She’ll be joined by the John P Thompson-trained Trusting. The Tale Of The Cat horse ran second to Captain Sonador in the Epsom Handicap (1600m) last weekend.

Other notable nominees to keep an eye on include Bart Cummings’s Allez Wonder, John P Thompson’s No Evidence Needed, Peter Snowden’s Kidnapped, and Mark Riley’s Gold Salute.

The 2010 Toorak Handicap jumps on Saturday, October 9 at Caulfield Racecourse. It will be one of nine races to be held throughout the day, including the Group 1 Yalumba Stakes and Caulfield Guineas. Don’t forget to check out the odds on all of these upcoming events at Ladbrokes.com.au.
